My friends, all, know this of me,
I preached and practiced democracy;
Rule of the Iron Hand
Is out of fashion – this is a free land.
There are people who love licking boots
And stay contented with sycophancy’s fruits;
Sorry, my goals are a little more noble
For keeping my job, licking is way too much trouble!
I know this much, after I am gone,
You’ll be missing a PERSON, not a CHAIR carved on stone.
I say again, what I said before,
A little gem from knowledge’s shore:-
“Respect the person, not the chair”,
Life is horizontal, not a vertical layer!
